And I would also say that the hero doesn’t just do performative acts of service to “prove” anything to her, but are rather ones that come out from what he’s observing about her and her situation. He performs these acts of service for her regardless of whether or not she would ever find out about them.
Yes! In fact it isn’t even clear to me she ever finds out about half of them. Like he tells the shopkeeper to say the delivery of all the food was prepaid for by her father before he passed!
